Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer in Biotechnology
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer in the Department of Biology in the Faculty of Science and Technology at The National university of Lesotho.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
We are seeking an energetic and innovative scientist with a qualification of PhD in Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology or related field.
Associate Professor
- A PhD Degree with specialization in Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology.
- A minimum of seven years teaching experience at tertiary institutions.
- Evidence of extensive research experience in Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology in the form of refereed publications.
Senior Lecturer
- A PhD Degree with specialization in Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology.
- A minimum of two years teaching experience at tertiary institutions.
- Evidence of extensive research experience in Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology in the form of refereed publications.
Lecturer
- A PhD Degree with specialization in Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology.
- Teaching experience at tertiary institutions is an added advantage.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology, Food Quality Management and Biotechnology Courses at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels
- Supervise students’ research projects at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
- Conduct research and engage in relevant community service activities.
- Perform any other duties, including administrative as may be required by the Department.
Contract terms
The appointment will be on permanent and pensionable terms of service for Lesotho nationals and on two-year renewable contract and gratuitable terms of service for expatriate candidates, in accordance with the University regulations.
