LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN BIOTECHNOLOGY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor in the Department of Biology in the Faculty of Science and Technology at the National University of Lesotho.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
We are seeking an energetic and innovative scientist with a qualification of a PhD in
Food Biotechnology/ Food Microbiology or related field.
Associate Professor
- A PhD Degree with specialization in Food Biotechnology/ Food Microbiology.
- A minimum of seven years of teaching experience at tertiary institutions.
- Evidence of extensive research experience in Food Biotechnology/ Food Microbiology in the form of refereed publications.
Senior Lecturer
- A PhD Degree with specialization in Food Biotechnology/ Food Microbiology.
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience at tertiary institutions.
- Evidence of research experience in Food Biotechnology/ Food Microbiology in the form of refereed publications.
Lecturer
- A PhD Degree with specialization in Food Biotechnology/ Food Microbiology.
- Teaching experience at tertiary institutions is an added advantage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach Food Microbiology, Food Biotechnology, Food Quality Management and Biotechnology Courses at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
- Supervise students’ research projects at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
- Conduct research and engage in relevant community service activities.
- Perform any other duties, including administrative, as may be required by the Department.
CONTRACT TERMS
The appointment will be on permanent and pensionable terms of service for Lesotho nationals and on two-year renewable contract and gratuitable terms of service for expatriate candidates, in accordance with the University regulations.
