The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post:
FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY: DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AND CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY
Post No. 2215: Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
The minimum requirement for this position is an MSc in Chemistry, but preferably a PhD in Analytical Chemistry with a minimum of two years teaching experience at a university. A specialization in spectroscopy is preferable. Applicants are advised that the University does not promote on appointment.
Applicants who wish to spend at least one (1) year on sabbatical leave may be considered.
Duties:
- Teach Analytical Chemistry courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Supervision of laboratory sessions for the practical components of courses assigned to teach Supervision postgraduate students’ projects
- Taking part in the research activities of the department
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the department from time to time.
The successful candidate will be expected to resume duty in September 2018.

The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment type:
This position is initially for a two years contract with the option for renewal upon satisfactory performance for non-locals or the possibility for permanent and pensionable terms for locals upon satisfactory performance.
