The University is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following academic positions for Maseru Campus;
Academic positions, Qualifications & Experience:
Experience for various positions under above mentioned Faculties:
Professorial positions:
- PhD from the relevant field.
- Asst. Professor – Minimum of 3 years teaching and active research background after PhD.
- Professor – Minimum of 6 years teaching and active research background after PhD.
Fellow – Minimum 2 years of teaching/industry experience after the completion of PhD.
Senior Lecturer: A minimum of 6 years of teaching experience at Tertiary level after the completion of relevant Master Degree with research background.
Lecturer – Minimum 3 Years of teaching/industry experience after the completion of Master degree. However, experience is not a bar for the candidates having Master degree with good academic track record along with good technical, teaching & research skills.
NB: For the consideration of higher academic positions, Botho University recruitment criteria will be applied.
Additional Note: Possession of teaching qualifications such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE), or Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDHE) or Masters in Higher Education (MEd in HE) or a Master of Philosophy in Education and Training (MPhil), is an added advantage for ALL positions.
Skills and Competencies required for each job:
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a good command of English.
- Good Organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate and mentor projects and internships for students including liaison with local Science Institutions and Business industry.
- Maintain student records and execute various day to day administrative responsibilities involved with teaching.
- Continuously upgrade skills through self- study and work with peers.
- Research and publishing.
- Active participation and contribution in Community Engagement activities.
Qualification: Candidate must have Master/PhD from the field of Computer Science/Information Technology/Computer Engineering/Computer Applications/Computer Systems. Specializations and/or Certifications in the areas of Data Science/Mobile Computing/Advanced Computer Networking/Network Security/Computer Forensics is an added advantage.
