LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER

The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above post:

REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant must have a minimum of MSc in Pharmacology/Clinical Pharmacology/Clinical Pharmacy with an undergraduate of Bachelors of Pharmacy. A PhD holder must have a minimum of six (6) months of teaching experience while a Masters Degree holder much have a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in institution(s) of higher learning. The applicant should have evidence of research experience with publications and/or research reports. Evidence of working in general and specialized wards, and experience with digital technology solutions used in clinical areas will be added advantage. The candidate should be a pharmacist with a valid registration with Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council (LMDPC).


DUTIES:
The successful appointee will be expected to:
o Teach pharmacology and therapeutics, and clinical pharmacy.
o Carry out clinical supervision at the clinical sites (general and specialized wards including ICU, oncology and renal unit etc.).
o Collaborate with practicing pharmacists for joint supervision of pharmacy interns.
o Monitor and assess student clinical practical performance and portfolio compilation.
o Take leadership in their area of specialization so that they can mentor young professionals’ development, research and publication.
o Participate in stewardship programmes in hospitals e.g. AMR, PV etc.
o Expose students to current digital technology solutions used in clinical areas e.g. CanReg, DHIS2, E-register etc.
o Supervise students’ dissertations
o Engage in research and curriculum development
o Design and oversee pharmacology laboratory practicals and do community services.

The candidate will also be expected to perform any other duties assigned to him/her by the department including administrative work.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
The appointment will be on permanent and pensionable terms for locals and contract/gratuitable for non-locals subject to completion of probation.
