Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- At least a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Accountancy, Economics, Education with a background in Business, or any Social Sciences discipline. A relevant Doctoral Degree will be an added advantage.
- Practical teaching and administrative experience in administering programmes in Education or Business Management-related courses at higher institutions of learning:
- Lecturer: At least two (2) years of experience.
- Senior Lecturer: At least six (6) years of experience.
- Demonstrable enthusiasm and interest in research, as evidenced by research publications in academic journals.
- Demonstrable experience in teaching within Open Distance Learning (ODL) contexts.
- Demonstrable capabilities and competencies in innovation and creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and leadership, and visionary and forward-looking thinking.
- Ability and willingness to support diverse distance learners.
- Computer literacy.
- Willingness to work unsociable hours when required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach and conduct research relevant to the programmes offered by the department.
- Participate in the development of new programmes and the review of existing programmes.
- Ensure the educational quality of courses within the programmes and that course content is presented in its entirety.
- Participate in community outreach programmes.
- Coordinate all academic and administrative activities of the programmes offered by the department.
- Provide the necessary support to students.
