JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Head of Programme Architecture, lecturer I, is responsible for teaching and monitoring of students on campus and while on industrial attachment. She/he conducts curriculum review, internal moderation of examinations, also assist in overall development of the programme.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The key duties of the post are as follows :-
- Teach courses under Bachelor of Architecture and contribute to teaching in other departments and programmes as required.
- Prepares lessons and/or training materials, delivers lectures and/or conducts practical for 20 to 24 hours per week.
- Assists the Head of Programme in the development of the Programme.
- Conduct tests and examinations for assessments and keep updated records.
- Monitors students on industrial attachment to obtain feedback on their progress.
- Supervises students’ projects and research.
- Participates in curriculum review to ensure industry relevance and academic quality.
- Participate in community engagement and consultancy activities.
- Assists with administrative and other duties as prescribed by the Head of Department or Representative as delegated.
- Conduct research related to field of expertise, and publish findings in professional journals, periodicals, textbooks, and/or electronic journals.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Postgraduate degree in Architecture (Master’s or Higher) and undergraduate degree in Architecture (BSc Arch/ B.Arch./ BA Arch/ BAS/BTech)
EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- At least 2 years of professional working experience in Architecture or any related design fields.
- Two years’ field experience in teaching or research work in Architecture will be an added advantage.
Additionally, the incumbent should
- Be competent in the use of Adobe Suite, Corel Draw, Graphic Soft and Autodesk products, and any other design related applications. (Kindly note that shortlisted candidates will be required to submit their portfolios)
- Be able to teach all Architecture modules
Skills and Attributes:
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Be able to work with students from different background.
- Be willing to supervise students for extra – mural activities.
