LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER

The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above position:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• The applicant must have a PhD in Literature with specialisation in Shakespeare as genre.
• Ability to teach both British and African Literature.
• Ability to teach in the ODL and/online.
• Should have obtained taught MA in English Literature.
• He/she should be able to teach a broad range of courses from Undergraduate to Postgraduate levels.
• Applicants should show evidence of publications in refereed journals.
• For Senior Lecturer s/he should have at least seven years teaching experience at tertiary.
• For Lecturer level applicant should have at least five years teaching experience at tertiary.

The successful applicant will be required to play an active role in building the Department, taking the lead in developing new areas of activity when required, and contributing to the Department, the Faculty and the University-wide activities. He or she will be expected to be actively involved in grant applications, have a clear research and publication strategy and be willing to contribute to projects that complement the Department, Faculty and University’s research and knowledge-transfer activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teaching at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels
• Supervising Undergraduate and Postgraduate dissertations
• Participating in the research programmes of the
Department/Faculty/University
• Carry out teaching and conduct research in his/her field of expertise, and perform any other duties as may be required by the Department
• Assume Administrative duties if required to
• Any other reasonable duties appropriate to the post

REMUNERATION
The University offers competitive salaries and other benefits commensurate to qualifications and experience.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years’ Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
