Title: Laboratory Technician
Reports to: Laboratory Head
Duty Station: Maseru
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• To receive samples at the laboratory and check sample details against the sample /test request form
• Conduct tests as per SOPs
• Implements QC/QA measures as per SOP and Quality guidelines
• Verifies and validates all test results
• Completes tests records in information systems
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment
• Maintain proper inventory and stock of materials
• Maintain record keeping
• Participate in EQAS
Minimum Requirements:
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
• Minimum of 5 years working experience in Medical Laboratory Services
• Strong pathophysiology understanding in terms of interpreting patient results
• Good understanding of quality management systems relevant to ISO 15189
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Demonstrated ability to interact professionally within culturally diverse settings
