LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above position:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum qualification requirement is a Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology or its equivalent. Candidates with experiences as laboratory technician will have a priority. The prospective candidate should possess adequate knowledge of Chemistry to be able to undertake laboratory preparations without supervision. The candidate must have adequate knowledge of basic electronics and computer literacy and be able to troubleshoot and undertake minor repairs of teaching equipment. The post is strictly for technicians and applicants with BSc, BSc Honours or MSc degrees or their equivalent are advised NOT to apply.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Making preparations prior to laboratory sessions and supervision during
laboratory sessions
• Laboratory housekeeping and handling equipment and minor maintenances of laboratory instruments.
• Keeping inventory of chemicals and laboratory equipment.
• Ordering of chemicals, glassware and laboratory equipment.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

The University offers competitive salaries and other benefits commensurate to qualifications and experience.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
This position will be an initial two year contract with the possibility for renewal and it is for Lesotho nationals only.
