Post No. 2245 Laboratory Technician
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for one positions of Laboratory Technician in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. This position will be an initial two year contract with the possibility for renewal and it is for Lesotho nationals only.
Requirements:
Minimum qualification requirement is a Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology or its equivalent. An experiences as laboratory technician will have a priority. The prospective candidate should possess adequate knowledge of chemistry to be able to undertake laboratory preparations without supervision. The candidate should technically be able to attend to minor repairs of teaching equipment when the need arises. Adequate knowledge of basic electronics and computer literacy will be added advantages.
The successful candidate will commence duty on 01 August 2020.
Duties:
Making preparations prior to laboratory sessions and supervision during laboratory sessions and
Keeping inventory of chemicals and laboratory equipment.
Ordering of chemicals, glassware and laboratory equipment.
Laboratory housekeeping and handling equipment and minor maintenances of laboratory instruments.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

RENUMERATION:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
TYPE OF CONTRACT
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable for Locals and Contract for Non- Locals.
