JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Head of Programme, the Laboratory Technician shall keep the laboratory equipment secure, clean and in a good working condition. He/she shall be responsible for the efficient management and security of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Motor Control Circuit, Electronics and Industrial Automation, Industrial Control & Automation and Industrial Automation & Robotics laboratories.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The key duties of the post are as follows :-
- Makes proper preparations for laboratories prior to laboratory sessions.
- Provides assistance to lecturers and students in running the laboratory sessions.
- Maintains laboratory equipment at good working conditions and standards.
- Keeps updated inventory of laboratory equipment a nd consumables.
- Installs and maintain laboratory equipment while following the relevant safety measures.
- Ensures that students adhere to all safety procedures and precautions that govern the laboratory or workshop.
- Advises the Head of Programme of the new trends and laboratory equipment to allow the institution to be up-to-date with technological trends.
JOB SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Equivalent
EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- One (1) year professional working experience in the relevant field.
- Teaching experience will be an added advantage.
Must have professional certification:
Industrial Instrumentation/ Programmable Logic Controllers/ Industrial Automation
Be able conduct laboratories in:
- Industrial Control & Automation
- Industrial Automation & Robotics
- Motor Control Circuits
