CBA is a non-governmental organization whose mandate is to assist the Lesotho Government on five thematic areas HIV and AIDS, Livelihoods, Economic Empowerment, Food Security and Humanitarian Relief.
Care for Basotho support integration of TB/HIV/SRH services for Key Populations (FSW, MSM, TG, PUD). The project is implemented in Mokhotlong, Butha-Buthe, Thaba-Tseka, Mafeteng, Mohale’s Hoek, Quthing, Berea and Qacha’s Nek.
KEY POPULATIONS NURSE – KP Project
Number of position-1 (Thaba-Tseka)
Job Purpose
The focus of the project is on: Prevention care and treatment, on Integration of TB/HIV/SRH services for Key populations (FSW, MSM, TGS, PUDs). The position will be based at Thaba- Tseka. There will be close collaboration with Ministry of Health and facilities and other partners responsible for the catchment areas being targeted. The position reports directly to the District Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Establish good relationships and collaborations with the DHMTs and other partners at the district level
• To provide clinical assessment of key populations (MSM, TGs, PUDs and FSWs), for provision of comprehensive services on prevention and care and treatment.
• Organise bookings of clients for ART and PrEP initiations including SRH services.
• In the absence of the HTS Counselor, provide both individual and group counselling for HIV testing, TB screening, STI screening Cervical cancer screening.
• Ensures that ART, TB, PEP, PrEP, STI, FP and other commodities like condoms and Lubricants.
• Provide technical support to the project team including Peer staff on all activities related to comprehensive services;
• Implement all clinical activities or services in accordance and aliening with the National guidelines, Curriculum and SOPs.
• Ensure that registers and monitoring and evaluation tools are filled properly at all times for quality data management.
• Assist in data compilation of weekly/monthly reporting to Data Clerks and M&E Officer or others, as advised by the supervisor.
• Ensures patient information is accurately recorded at sites; and treated with confidentiality.
• Attend all meetings and activities organised by the DHMT for her participation
• Organise, facilitate meetings for the Peer staff and CBA district teams on performance review
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports in a timely manner to both the DHMT and CBA.
Requirements and Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in implementation of community-based HIV /TB and AIDS prevention, care and support programs.
• Experience of working in HIV donor -funded programs and experience, in a supervisory role, will be an added advantage.
• Diploma/ Degree (Degree preferred) in Nursing and Midwifery with a minimum of ART,TB and PrEP experience.
• Registered with Lesotho Nursing Council of Lesotho with valid practicing license.
• Must have experience in key populations programming with focus on Prevention care and treatment.
• Experience in collaborating with the DHMTs and other partners
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, mentoring and training skills.
• Dynamic professional willing to work flexible hours
• Computer Skills, including MS Office Word, PowerPoint and MS Excel
