Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation (EGPAF) is a USA based Organization with public health programs around the World. It creates a future of hope for children and families worldwide by eradicating pediatric AIDS, providing care and treatment for people with HIV and AIDS, and accelerating the discovery of new treatments for other serious and life threatening pediatric illnesses. EGPAF’s work is funded through private donations, PEPFAR via the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Centre for Disease Control (CDC)), Unit aid etc.
Position Title: Key Population Officers X2 (1 supporting Care for Basotho and 1 supporting Matrix )
JOB SUMMARY
Under the joint oversight of EGPAF and Care for Basotho or Matrix Senior staff, the Key Populations Officer will assist in the following:
- Recruitment, training and mentorship of peer educators
- Assist in the development of health education materials and talks related to HIV and AIDS, TB, SRH, STI management, PMTCT and PrEP
- Improve referral systems
- Identify and address bottlenecks that impact on access to health services for key populations.
- Promote strategies that improve adherence, retention and viral suppression among key populations.
N/B: Candidates MUST indicate in their applications whether they are interested in working with Matrix or with Care for Basotho.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
First degree in Social sciences and/or health related field
EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years of experience working on HIV and TB related activities
Experience in providing capacity building activities
Experience working with key populations a definite advantage
