Key Account Manager – Johannesburg

Job summary:

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an experienced enterprise sales professional to join us as a Key Account Manager in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this role, you will handle relationships with our key accounts, helping our customers and partners make business and IT transformations through our services and solutions. You will be responsible for building new commercial relationships, as well as expanding and improving the business we do with existing customers. As a Key Account Manager, you will also gain an understanding of customer processes, needs, and issues and articulate the value of Red Hat’s solutions and how they address customer needs.
Primary job responsibilities:

  • Communicate Red Hat’s values and visions to the executive and management levels of customer organizations
  • Successfully sell solutions and services in the field, specifically in the financial services industry (FSI) vertical
  • Develop and expand existing accounts in South Africa
  • Represent Red Hat to the customers and customers to Red Hat in sales-related matters
  • Meet assigned sales quotas
  • Work to develop and expand a fixed set of named accounts
  • Guide a virtual sales team consisting of solutions architects, insides sales representatives, consultants, engagement managers, and Red Hat’s senior management

Required skills:

  • Excellent record in software and services solutions sales in South Africa
  • Proven experience selling complex solutions to large organizations and multiple decision makers
  • Ability to work as part of a team while demonstrating flexibility, ability to work on your own, and initiative
  • Solid understanding of companies and opportunities that exist in the region
  • Good communication and technical skills that will allow you to develop relationships at commercial and executive levels throughout organizations
  • Willingness to travel across the region, following Red Hat’s COVID-19 guidelines
