The competition is open to photographers worldwide, who are over 18 years.

Fundación MAPFRE based in Madrid (Spain) has set in motion the first edition of the KBr Photo Award, an international award held every two years, which is open to photographers who are planning a new project or have just completed one.
Projects from around the world may be submitted, as long as they have not been entered in any other similar competition or shown in public.
There is no fixed subject, but preference will be given to entries that reflect the tradition of documentary photography.
Participants should send description of the project and selection of between 10 and 15 images which illustrate the proposal.
Entry fee
The competition is free to enter.
Prizes
The winner will be awarded the sum of 25,000 € in order to undertake the selected project.
In addition to a cash prize, Fundación MAPFRE will produce and organize an exhibition in the foundation’s KBr Photo Center in Barcelona in February 2023, to showcase the work of the winning photographer.
