Position: JEDI Coordinator

Organization: Global Gas and Oil Network (GGON)
Location: Remote (Preference for candidates from the Global South)
Time Commitment: 3 days a week (One-year contract)
Compensation: US$30,000 – $36,000 (for 3 days/week, based on location, experience, and qualifications)

The Global Gas & Oil Network (GGON) is an international non-profit network of civil society organisations working to stop oil and gas expansion and catalyse a just and equitable global phaseout of fossil fuel production. GGON supports this mission through:

  • Convening strategic conversations
  • Coordinating campaigns and research
  • Providing communications tools and training
  • Supporting national, regional, and thematic coalitions

GGON operates with a lean, fully virtual secretariat across multiple continents and time zones.


About the Role

The JEDI Coordinator will lead GGON’s efforts on Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) across the secretariat and the broader network. This includes:

  • Coordinating the JEDI Advisory Committee
  • Implementing JEDI audit recommendations
  • Advising on JEDI-aligned strategies, policies, and HR practices
  • Communicating JEDI efforts across the network

Key Responsibilities

JEDI Advisory Committee

  • Coordinate and support the JEDI Advisory Committee
  • Organize monthly meetings and direct engagement with members
  • Develop onboarding strategies for new members
  • Align committee work with GGON leadership and network bodies
  • Create and implement a detailed JEDI workplan and long-term strategy

Training & Capacity Building

  • Identify and implement JEDI training for the secretariat and network
  • Roll out learning opportunities to embed equity and inclusion

Workplace Culture & Policy

  • Plan and implement a JEDI journey for the team
  • Improve workplace culture in line with JEDI principles
  • Review and enhance internal policies and practices
  • Prioritize and implement 2024 JEDI audit recommendations

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Significant JEDI/DEI experience in a non-profit context
  • Strong coordination and facilitation skills, ideally in a network setting
  • Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Additional languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Kiswahili) are a strong advantage
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong commitment to social justice and climate action
  • Reliable internet access
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Desirable

  • Human Resources (HR) experience
