Job description
Finweek is looking for a designer to join its production team. Finweek is an alternate weekly financial magazine. As a designer for this publication, you will be responsible for the layout and production process of all visual elements, including front cover conceptualisation, as well as other design-related work.
Duties will include:
- Article layout in accordance with the magazine’s style template
- Sourcing of relevant pictures for these layouts
- Conceptualising and designing high-quality, original magazine covers
- Creating custom illustrations and other graphic elements as required
- Checking and signing off article PDFs on deadline
- Managing repro process with the in-house repro department
- Assisting editorial team with visual elements for online platforms
- Designing of in-house marketing material
Requirements
- Three to five years’ design experience, preferably in a print media production environment
- Fine eye for detail
- Willing to work long hours on deadline
- Able to work under deadline pressure
- Proficient in Adobe Design Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Familiar with production management systems like Woodwing
- Familiar with working on Mac
- Team player
