OnePower (1PWR) is seeking a Maseru based Junior Mechanical Technician. The core duties and responsibilities of the position are fabrication and assembly of Manufactured Structural Steel components as well as maintenance and repair of assets (machinery and facilities).
Key outputs:
• Interpretation of dimensioned drawings
• Fabrication of parts and assemblies as per specifications
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery and facilities as per prevailing/relevant industry standards
• Understanding of and adherence to Health and Safety standards
• Understanding of and adherence to quality assurance methods and techniques
• Participate in developing new fabrication processes and standard operating procedures
Required skills and competencies:
• Welding (Arc, MIG, TIG)
• Turning on a lathe and Milling on a milling machine
• Hand tools (filing, tapping, grinding, cutting, drilling etc)
• Strong team player skills across different cultures
• Open minded, self-driven and able to work independently
• Microsoft windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Good written and verbal communication skills in both Sesotho and English
Experience required:
- 2 to 3 years relevant experience.
- Recent graduates will also be considered.
