Mokhele Media Group is seeking a Junior Digital Media Journalist with strong skills in social media reporting and digital content creation to join its dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a young, digitally savvy journalist who is eager to grow, build networks, and gain hands-on experience in a professional media environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Source, pitch, and develop news stories relevant to client needs
• Create engaging news content tailored to each social platform (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
• Manage and publish client news content across social media platforms
• Monitor news trends and social conversations to identify opportunities for client exposure
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, fairness, and balance in all reporting
• Build and maintain networks with news sources and relevant contacts in Lesotho
• Represent the company at events, media briefings, and stakeholder engagements
• Collaborate with the internal team to strategize digital campaigns and improve audience reach
• Translate and write stories in both English and Sesotho when required
• Learn from the diverse work and approaches of various clients across industries
Key Skills
• Proficiency in social media platforms (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
• Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Sesotho is an advantage
• Strong news judgment and the ability to spot relevant or trending stories quickly
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Basic multimedia skills (e.g., phone photography and video editing)
• Good networking, public engagement, and professional presentation skills
