Yebo Fresh is an award-winning online shopping service delivering popular groceries focusing on South Africa’s townships. We serve families, NGO’s, schools/ ECDs and township businesses such as spaza’s and fast food restaurants. This position can be based in Johannesburg or Cape Town (preferred), or remote with occasional travel.
Now Hiring: Junior Brand & Marketing Specialist
Job Purpose:
- To develop and drive marketing activities to grow the consumer sales of on-line groceries for Yebo Fresh nationally.
Key Role Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work with Commercial Director on development of relevant, implementable plans to build the Yebo Fresh brand with consumers.
- Develop and implement the social media marketing plan
- Develop sales collateral including flyers, broadsheets, billboards and other deliverables
- Be feet on the ground to ensure plans are executed smoothly
- Oversee the development and buying of marketing materials from 3 rd party providers (agencies/ designers/ printers…).
- Work with field personnel to develop better consumer insights to help sharpen the business model and brand positioning.
- Be part of the Task Team on B2C modelling.
- Take on all marketing related tasks.
- Report back on marketing activities.

Skills & requirements needed to fulfill the role:
- Marketing completed qualification (Degree or Diploma) required.
- 3-5 Years demonstrated experience within Marketing in the FMCG, Food retail and/or Ecommerce industry; digital marketing advantageous.
- Expert design skills, creative thinker
- Experience as a brand promoter, marketing, or trade marketing assistant advantageous,
- Good ability to understand what consumers might want – good listener and get along with people easily.
- An excellent understanding of- and strong affinity with the township market; proven experience in this segment is advantageous
- An understanding and experience with digital / online marketing and sales is advantageous.
- You must demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make decisions quickly and effectively, as well as the ability to process information clearly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy with expert Word and Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ideally in English and Xhosa and/or Zulu and/or Afrikaans
- Organisational and time management skills

Contract Type: 3 Month Employment Contract with a 1-months probationary period, with a possibility of becoming permanent.
Compensation: R 15 000 – R 20 000 per month
