The role
The Junior Accountant performs a wide range of duties, including but not limited to the following:

  • Handling day-to-day accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and billing
  • Documenting and maintaining complete and accurate supporting information for financial transactions
  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing process through accounts reconciliation and journal entries
  • Auditing employee travel expense reports, corporate credit card uses, and reconciliations with the monthly close
  • Supporting requests of annual audits and other compliance requirements
  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files, filing, processing paperwork and other tasks as requested.
  • Assisting with other accounting projects as required.

The ideal candidate

  • Proven experience as a junior accountant
  • University degree or college diploma in accounting
  • Excellent organizing abilities and great attention to detail
  • Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting software programs and MS Office
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexible, adaptable, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
