Letšeng seeks to engage a qualified professional with appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of IT Support Technician (Paterson Band CL).

PURPOSE: To support IT users in addressing IT-related problems from a technical perspective. To Monitor, Install and maintain Letšeng Diamonds IT-based systems following IT procedures. To ensure user accessibility to the network. To ensure adherence to IT and HSE policies standards and procedures.

MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with updated hardware and software and Implement provision of network access to all staff following IT procedures

• Configure and Install PABX Telephones, create user accounts, pins and install physical telephones

• Configure Network Switches appropriately in relation to subcontractors and different network platforms and liaises with appropriate internet service providers as per direction and instruction from the line supervisor

• Maintain IT network inventory and stores and issue reports periodically

• Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate and makes recommendations on the purchasing of IT resources

• Assist users with hardware and software problems via phone, email or physically and supports Subcontractors in IT-related matters i.e. (e-mail, telephones internet and VLAN network Links)

• Maintain a log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance

• Troubleshoot delegated IT issues and complete daily checks on hotspots, servers, mobile networks, internet, e-mails, faxes, telephones, printers, radio antennae and communication switches and hubs

• Monitor security of IT systems and supports Backbone Network Links to Surveillance Networks

• Support backbone and in-house connection of television to residences and configures and install all equipment to ensure that required channels are always up and running

• Communicate and report network connection and system failures with appropriate service providers

• Comply with HSE policies

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• CCNA; MCSE; Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering Degree or Diploma

• 2 years of relevant experience in IT network support environment

• Sound knowledge and understanding of the work methods and techniques applied in the execution of IT-related outputs

• Good knowledge of UTP cable and CISCO switches and Microsoft servers and wireless communication

• Light Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence
