Blue Mountain Inn is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Specialist to join its team and provide reliable IT support across hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to staff and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot computers, printers, networks and other IT equipment.
- Maintain and monitor the hotel’s network infrastructure, internet connectivity and systems.
- Provide technical support for hotel management and operational systems, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) and payroll/HR systems.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, backups and basic cybersecurity measures.
- Monitor IT equipment and ensure systems are operational and secure.
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance and integration of new IT systems.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, equipment and maintenance.
- Train and assist employees on the proper use of IT systems and equipment.
- Liaise with external IT service providers and suppliers when necessary.
- Ensure timely resolution of IT-related incidents and minimise system downtime.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in IT support or a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and network administration.
- Knowledge of database systems and hotel management/POS systems will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity, data protection and backup procedures.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent technical issues.
- Experience in the hospitality industry will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Must be willing to relocate.
