The Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) was established by an Act of Parliament in 2001 and became operational in 2003. RSL exists to positively impact Basotho’s livelihoods by investing in people and technology. Under the 2024–2027 strategy themed “Lesokoana”, RSL focuses on Improved Employee Experience, Value-Driven Processes, Digitalization, and Combined Assurance.
RSL is seeking experienced, passionate, energetic, and resilient Lesotho citizens to join its dynamic team and contribute to revenue services in Lesotho.
Position Title: IT Security and Risk Management Officer
Number of Positions: Three (3)
Duration: 3 Months
Location: Revenue Services Lesotho
Summary of Purpose
Responsible for protecting RSL’s digital infrastructure and taxpayer data by proactively monitoring systems, identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security threats, and improving the security posture of RSL’s IT infrastructure. This role supports the implementation of cybersecurity policies, conducts risk assessments, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse system logs and security tools (firewalls, antivirus, SIEM alerts) for breaches and unauthorized access
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests
- Maintain asset inventories and security baselines
- Identify, prioritize, and remediate security risks
- Maintain and fine-tune intrusion detection/prevention systems and endpoint security solutions
- Investigate and respond to incidents (malware, phishing, data breaches)
- Deliver cybersecurity awareness training to staff
- Maintain logs of user access reviews and system checks
- Ensure adherence to security checklists and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Training and certification in:
• Cybersecurity
• Networking
• System Administration
• Risk Management
