Position: IT OFFICER (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR)
The Public Officers’ Defined Contribution Pension Fund “the Fund” has been established to provide retirement benefits of permanent and pensionable Public Officers and for related matters.
The Fund invites suitably qualified competent and self-driven Basotho to apply for the
position of IT Officer (Systems Administrator).
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB AND REPORTING
The incumbent of this position is responsible for the management and maintenance of the
Fund’s databases, to ensure adherence to data management policies and that the installed
system is functional. The incumbent also supports the Fund’s overall IT infrastructure
including IT based business solutions relating to benefits administration of the Fund. The
position reports to the Head of Benefits Administration, in the Benefits Administration
Division.
Areas of Responsibilities:
– Database Support
– Operating system (Linux) Support
– Local Area Network / Internet Support
– Desktop Support
– RBAS Support
– Operational level interactions with third parties
– User & Access rights Support
– Help Desk.
Duties and Responsibilities
– Provide proactive support to the Fund Users and the Fund’s RBAS
– Determine and document database, operating system, network and desktop policies,
procedures and standards for the Fund
– Determine, document and regularly test the Fund’s disaster recovery process
– Perform regular tests and evaluations for data security and integrity
– Monitor the performance of the Fund’s overall IT infrastructure
– Respond timely to user-reported errors
– Collaborate with all the stakeholders to ensure that the implemented system aligns with
the Fund’s goals and Members’ needs
– Install the necessary systems and security tools within the Fund
– Provide user account management
– Provide IT infrastructure administration, monitoring, enhancement and troubleshooting.
Qualifications, Working Experience and Knowledge:
– Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems
– Knowledge of RDMS/Networks/Operating Systems
– Certification as an MCDBA or MCSD for .NET is an added advantage
– Experience in pension funds or life insurance is an added advantage
– A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in IT environment
