Background
Since 2018, the Government of Lesotho (GoL) in partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has been implementing the Lesotho National Dialogue and Stabilization Project (LNDSP). A key outcome of the dialogue process was the creation of a legal framework to safeguard the reforms implementation process and insulate it from possible interference by enacting the National Reforms Authority (NRA) Act, 2019. The NRA Act 2019 section 4 states that there is established authority to be known as the National Reforms Authority which shall have such powers [section 7 (1) – (3)] and perform such functions [section 8 (1) – (2)] as are necessary for the attainment of the objectives of this Act while section 12 (1) states that the Authority shall perform its functions within a period of one year from the date of the constitution of the Secretariat.
The Authority is looking for highly self – driven professionals who fill the following positions;
JOB TITLE: IT OFFICER
NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1
REPORTS TO: Human Resources and Administration Manager
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The officer is responsible for deploying, support and maintains of NRA’s end-user productivity tools ensuring optimal levels of availability, performance & efficiency of ICT Services. The Officer is also responsible for providing 1st level support and advice to end-users using industry best practices and standards such as ITIL. He/ She will be installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain NRA Secretariat website
Provide 1st level (remote/physical) end-user support to all NRA clients ensuring that principles of customer care and satisfaction are adhered to as guided by frameworks like ITIL:
Responding to requests for technical assistance
Diagnosing and resolving hardware problems
Advising users on appropriate actions
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
Installation, configuration & maintenance of work productivity tools such as but not limited to; Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Scanners, business mobile phones, etc
Desktop housekeeping activities, including but not limited to ensuring that all software upgrades and updates are current Scanning developments in the ICT productivity tools (hardware & software) space and providing ideas for innovation in line with the ICT vision, mission and priorities at NRA.
Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
Support the roll-out of new applications
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
PLUS
Minimum 5 years working knowledge of hardware and software platforms
WORKING CONDITIONS OFFICE BOUND/ON-SITE/TRAVEL
Travel will be required within Lesotho as well as travel to other countries from time to time.
