As IT Manager, the implementation and upkeep of the Property Management System (Opera) will be your main responsibility. You will need to ensure overall accountability for the entire IT operation of the property, with specific regard to but not limited to the following:
• Lead the daily operations of information technology to meet the highest standards of service to all stakeholders and respond to users’ needs and requests.
• Ensuring the management of a comprehensive and effective IT support environment for gaming (in cases where the property has a Casino) and hospitality operations on a daily basis.
• Provide operational expertise, and advice and represents the operations service with users, vendors, and guests.
• Provide operational input into the property’s strategic plan and unit objectives.
• Ensuring optimal network and application availability in line with service level agreement.
• Ensure stability of IT infrastructure components (e.g. servers, workstations, networks).
• Monitor and accurately check IT server infrastructure.
• Resolves high-level technical problems timeously.
• Effectively managing the IT support team including setting and monitoring performance objectives
• Provide transparency and understanding of IT costs, benefits, strategy, policies, and service levels.
• Ensuring IT security and access control are in line with business needs and requirements.
• Protecting business data and the movement thereof.
• Ensuring infrastructure is protected from malicious attacks at all times.
• Responsible for the Active Directory infrastructure and ensuring best practices in accordance with Group Policies and Procedures.
• Individual development plans to be in place to address operational objectives and strategy e.g. skills shortages, succession plans, and talent management.
• Ensure Up to date central repository of all configuration items and fixed asset register recording of all IT assets.
• Ensuring the budget is aligned with strategy and achieves the operational requirements.
• Identifying IT risks and managing the IT risk management plans to allow for business continuity in case of emergencies (Risk Register, DRP, BCP).
• Ensuring IT hardware infrastructure is in a well-functional state in order to ensure availability to business.
• Ensuring Procured services meet operational requirements as agreed upon in SLAs.
• Implementation of new IT initiatives, software changes, and IT infrastructure.
• Timeously procurement of IT equipment and adhere to replacement cycles of all IT infrastructure.
• Manage IT change management, IT risk management, and IT problem management effectively within the property
• Achieving required audit results as agreed upon by the business.
• Achievement of all set objectives that contributes to business property’s KPIs.
• Complete monthly IT reports.
• Compiling of standard operating procedures for property-specific technologies.
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Higher Diploma or relevant NQF 7
- ITIL Foundation V3 Certification
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
- Dell Equal logic (advantageous)
- Minimum of 8 years relevant IT industry experience with the last five years managing teams of professionals
- Specialized technical experience and a proven technical background
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and resolve conflict
- Ability to Manage and mitigate risks
- Experience in Stakeholder Management including vendor engagement and related SLAs
- Experience with the deployment of large-scale production virtualization systems
- Proven ability to provide strategic technological input to business decisions
- Proven ability to produce and manage a budget
- Will be required to work extended hours, shifts, and over weekends in line with operational requirements.
- May be required to travel.
