STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: University degree in one or more of the following disciplines: Social Sciences, Information Technology, Marketing/Communication or related fields.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years working experience in research, data analytics and/or visualization.
  • Experience with work in a non-profit organization a plus

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Sesotho.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Under the general supervision and guidance of IT Officer, as a Data Analyst, you will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data and help us make smarter decisions to become even more effective at serving our beneficiaries. A passion for data visualization and a keen design sense, you will also have a portfolio of work you are excited to share but probably never completely satisfied with.

JOB PURPOSE

To apply data mining techniques, do statistical analysis, analyse trends to identify insights and visualize the data to create a powerful narrative.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Work closely with data owners and stakeholders to identify data pain points and data visualisation needs for country operations
  • Review key data that has been collected through various platforms/sources;
  • Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis;
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and identify and flag trends in data, generating actionable insights;
  • Produce visual dashboards (in Tableau) for key presentations, reports and various types of communications for both internal and external audiences;
  • Leverage visual dashboards and communications to deliver powerful narratives targeting diverse stakeholders;
  • Do other IT related activities as may be required.
