CRS invites sealed bids from eligible transport service providers in Lesotho, to provide Rent-A-Car/ vehicle hire services for its employees and visitors.
CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES (CRS) Lesotho is an International Non- Governmental Organization working under the auspices United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). CRS is in Lesotho at the invitation of the Lesotho Catholic Bishop’s Conference (LCBC) to plan and coordinate programs in three of Lesotho’s four dioceses, bringing public and private sectors together for community-based development.
Our programs involve partnerships with stakeholders such as the Government of Lesotho, local non-government organizations (NGOs), international NGOs, public- and private-sector partners, and Church partners. Our current work in Lesotho focuses on livelihoods, climate change and natural resource management, emergency response, education, microfinance, HIV, and information and communications technology for development

The following items will be considered in the evaluation of prospective supplier, tender documents;
- Incase of emergency, the Transporter must be willing to offer services and have a back-up staff member in case of holiday and sickness.
- The Transporter should give a warranty as to the vehicle’s fitness, quality, design, condition, capacity, suitability, performance.
- Documented compliance with Government of Lesotho COVID-19 restrictions.
Interested applicants must include the following in their applications:
- Full contact details (name, postal & physical address, phone numbers and e-mail addresses), on Company Letterhead and signed by an authorized official.
- A valid copy of registration certificate with registrar of Business/s
- Registration with relevant entities, i.e. Insurance Company
- List of taxis & 4×4 vehicle owned with their registration numbers, including copies of blue card.
Criteria for selection include the following:
- Company Profile
- Certified copy of a certificate of registration, certified at source
- Certified copy of a valid tax clearance certificate, certified at source
- Expertise and capacity to – supply information regarding expertise and capacity to carry out the job, include the following:
- Supply at least 5 contactable referees simply stating the following:
- Name of a Client
- Position
- Contact telephone number/mobile number
- Work performed
- Period contracted
5) Terms of Payment
- Price, VAT Inclusive
- Rate per km plus the standing charge/ a flat rate for a distance travelled plus the standing charge
6) Vehicle condition with valid certificates, i.e. copy of a blue card, proof of disc registration
NB: Please, note that the above requirements are mandatory and MUST accompany the bid. Non-compliance with he above will lead to a disqualification.
All Prospective Suppliers are advised to comply with their tax obligation by attaching valid and certified copies of income Tax and Value Added Tax certificates that are certified. Prospective Suppliers should also submit a copy of their Trader’s licence certificate, all should be certified at source.

The closing date for submission of the proposals is Friday, November 19, 2021 at 14:00 hours. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Please note:
- The issuance of this invitation does not constitute an award commitment on the part of CRS Lesotho, nor does it commit CRS Lesotho to pay for the costs incurred in the preparation and submission of a quotation.
- The prices shall be quoted in Maloti or Rand. The amount of the bid cannot be changed following variations in the fuel rate fluctuations.
- The applicants must comply with the requirements above. Non-compliant applications may be disqualified. A Prospective winning Bid shall be expected to start job in January 2022.
