1. Project Background:
The Kingdom of Lesotho has received financing from the African Development Fund (ADF) toward the cost of the Lowlands Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contracts for:
- Lot 1: Ha Lihanela, Ha Mphoto, Ramohajane, Ha Katu, and Maccuba Water Supply Systems
- Lot 2: Ha Mohlakaso, Ha Ramokotjo, Ha Motanyane, Ha Mokhohla, and Popa Ha Maama Water Supply Systems
Scope of Works:
Lot 1 – Ha Lihanela and Ha Mphoto, Ramohajane, Ha Katu and Maccuba Water Supply Systems
- 6 × 10m³ elevated plastic tanks
- 1 × 30m³ pressed steel tank
- 1 × 15m³ stonemasonry storage tank
- 1 × 25m³ stonemasonry storage tank
- 1 × 10m³ stonemasonry storage tank
- 53 public standpipes
- 21,990.6m pipe laying of HDPE (75mm to 25mm diameter)
- 4 Grundfos pumps and accessories
- 61 solar panels
Lot 2 – Ha Mohlakaso, Ha Ramokotjo, Ha Motanyane, Ha Mokhohla and Popa Ha Maama Water Supply Systems
- 4 × 10m³ elevated plastic tanks
- 2 × 15m³ stonemasonry storage tanks
- 1 × 35m³ stonemasonry storage tank
- 1 × 7.5m³ stonemasonry storage tank
- 18,473.9m pipe laying of HDPE (63mm to 25mm diameter)
- 96m pipe laying of galvanised iron
- 38 public standpipes
- 4 Grundfos pumps and accessories
- 40 solar panels
Payments will be processed using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines.
2. Bid Invitation:
The Ministry of Natural Resources (Commission of Water) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders (Category A and B registered with DRWS/Ministry of Works (BDS)) for the construction of water supply systems from drilled boreholes.
3. Bidding Details:
- Bidders may bid for one or both lots
- Discounts for multiple awards are allowed if included in the Letter of Bid
- Bidding will follow Open Competitive Bidding (National) procedures per the Bank’s Procurement Framework (November 2018)
- Open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework
