Investment Specialist with Business Development

Location: Maseru, Lesotho

An opportunity is available for an Investment Specialist, based in Lesotho.

We are looking to hire a highly professional, detail-oriented, and confident Investment Analyst / Specialist with a focus on business development and client retention. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to monitor client portfolios from both a regulatory and mandate compliance perspective. In addition, the candidate will play an essential role in fostering new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring long-term satisfaction of institutional clients.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A relevant degree in Finance / Actuarial field / CFA
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in investment analysis or portfolio monitoring of institutional investor portfolios

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide monitoring reports to institutional clients, focusing on mandate and/or regulatory compliance
  • Engage with various institutional investors and demonstrate sound understanding of investment instruments in an institutional setting
  • Interact with stakeholders including Administrators, Asset Managers, Actuaries, Consultants, and Auditors
  • Assist auditors, actuaries, and administrators with information and documentation required to manage client assets
  • Address and manage all investment-related issues and queries (oral and written)
  • Research and investigate investment-related matters concerning client portfolios, including:
    • Investment services
    • Cost and fee structures
    • Other investment matters requested by Trustees
  • Keep abreast of current market, economic, and industry developments, including new products
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential institutional clients
  • Showcase IAC’s investment strategies and expertise to drive growth
  • Foster long-term relationships with existing clients
  • Identify opportunities for additional services, products, and portfolio optimisation
  • Work closely with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention
  • Perform all duties professionally and in compliance with regulations and IAC best practice

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong numeracy and financial acumen
  • In-depth knowledge of financial instruments, investment products, asset managers, and regulations
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel); database knowledge is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team
  • Detail-oriented with a structured and analytical approach
  • Enjoys stakeholder engagement (auditors, administrators, asset managers, clients)
  • Critical thinker with solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to identify growth opportunities and adapt to market changes
  • High integrity and strong regulatory compliance mindset
