ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

Disabled and HIV/AIDS Organization Lesotho (DHAOL) is a non-governmental organization aimed at providing comprehensive care and support to people affected and infected by HIV and persons with disabilities and also to create an enabling environment of society free from all types of exploitation, stigmatization and discrimination of HIV and TB using human rights approach.

DHAOL Seeks to appoint a competent Health & Social Development Coordinator to be based in Maseru. DHAOL Coordinators are professionals responsible for managing the day-to-day tasks that keep the programs running smoothly and are often entrusted with making some higher-level decisions.

Job Title: Health & Social Development Coordinator

Employment Type: Paid Internship

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for overall supervision of the programmes and projects activities.

• Design and execute programs and project work plans to meet the goals and objectives of the organization.

• Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.

• Responsible to Submit Narrative reports not later than 5th of every month to the Programmes Director

• Ensure good coordination with all stakeholders and local community.

• Develop Project Plan and consultation with the team, with the assigning of roles and responsibilities against the activities of the project as per approved proposal.

• Sharing of communication check list with the staff and follow ups for ensuring its implementation in the field activities.

• Responsible for planning, program design, and to ensure its proper implementation at the field level.

• Monitoring visits to field and to provide technical support to field staff.

ACTUAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• To develop linkages with other key players working in the field.

• Submission of weekly, monthly and quarterly report to the Programmes Director.

• To provide day to day guidance to program and project staff.

• Provide guidance for the field level activities and facilitate staff for implementation and issues resolution.

• Supervise staff for the Broad-Based Community meetings and Mobilization in selected Villages and establishment of village organizations on each village level

• Supervise monitoring team for conducting baseline survey, end line survey and ensure proper data entries.

• Liaise with the Programmes Director for the implementation of programs and project activities.

• Share progress of on-going activities of the programs and projects and future plans in line with the organization plans

• Share and finalize the program documents (formats) for required compliance in consultation with the Programmes Director.

• Develop project presentation, project introduction and other project orientation and visibility matter for staff, visitors and general stakeholders

• Liaise with Finance and Administration Officer to take support in order to make project activities as per budgeted.

• To make sure that all targets are achieved in time and with quality.

• Ensure that programs and projects activities are in accordance with norms and standards of donor, as well as according to available budget lines and limitations.

Requirements and Qualifications

Basic Requirements

 Applicants must be between the ages of 23 and 29

 Excellent interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, mentoring and training skills.

 Good analytical and report writing skills.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. FLUENCY IN ENGLISH IS REQUIRED.

 Willingness to work with key populations networks and groups.

 Ability and willingness to travel domestically and on short notice when necessary.

Education and Experience:

 Bachelor’s degree qualification covering relevant aspects of project management, public administration, health information systems, program evaluation and data analysis, or related field.

 A minimum of 2 years of work experience in designing, implementing, and managing projects

 Experience working within the NGOs/CBO sector, specifically in the HIV/AIDS or health-related fields as well as working with AGYWs

 Solid understanding and experience in the use of the national HIV monitoring and evaluation tools.
