Job Purpose
To conduct internal audits that will furnish information used to provide independent; objective assurance to the Bank’s Board of Directors; that the governance processes and management of risk and systems of internal control; are adequate and effective to mitigate the most significant risks; both current and emerging; that threaten the achievement of the Nedbank’s objectives; and in so doing help improve the control culture of the bank.
Job Responsibilities
•Conduct internal audits in accordance with the approved internal audit plan
•Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with policies and risk management processes
•Conduct follow up on implemented audit findings to monitor management’s interventions
•Prepare audit working papers and document audit findings in a clear and professional manner
•Keep up to date with audit trends, data analytics, and regulatory requirements
•Engage with stakeholders to understand the processes, discuss audit findings and support control improvements
•Participate in Nedbank culture-building initiatives (eg staff surveys) to contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals.
•Identify and recommend effective ways to operate and add value to
•Network and liaise with the internal and external clients to build and sustain stakeholder relationships.
•Ensure clear; accurate and appropriate communication by engaging with business stakeholders.
•Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
•Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified timeframe.
•Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction.
•Highlight benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations to obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes (eg operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholders’ businesses.
Preferred Qualification
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent / BCom (Auditing, Accounting, Risk Management)/ General Accounting,
Chattered Accounting qualification will be an added advantage
Preferred Certifications
CIA (Certified Internal Auditor),ACCA
Minimum Experience Level
3 years relevant business experience
