purpose

To formulate tactical strategy and associated delivery plans related to Internal Audit requirements ensuring practice integration and operational implementation through the achievement of Lesotho Internal Audit objectives. This includes being accountable for the establishment of Internal Audit methodology, processes and procedures, provision of risk insights and independent internal audit assurance and consulting services as well as reporting on financial and non-financial effectiveness of internal controls as to ensure that Internal Audit results are improved significantly  

experience and qualifications

  • Minimum Qualification – Relevant Degree
  • Preferred Qualification – Post Graduate Degree
  • Experience – 5 to 8 years’ experience in an Internal Audit environment, of which 2 to 3 years ideally at management level
  • Additional Knowledge – Audit and control principles and procedures
  • Internal Audit tools and leading practices

responsibilities

  • Draw up a budget aligned to tactical delivery plans to facilitate the provision of adequate financial resources
  • Establish mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders that support thought leadership, innovative and integrated practice solutions
  • Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across business areas and across the group
  • Manage team or teams in areas of responsibility in delivery against performance targets and achievement of wider human capital objectives
  • Identify and encourage participation in activities that are appropriate for own and employee development in area of responsibility
  • Deploys integrated risk management, governance and compliance frameworks throughout area of responsibility
  • Identify, drive and implement ideas, policies, procedures, standards and frameworks to enhance sales and increase profit and manage future fit practice
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership in area of expertise
  • Coach relevant business roles to improve audit skills
  • Lead audit assignments on credit models and compile and action audit findings to optimise processes and systems while producing quality audit reports
  • Ensure solutions and advice provided to the business meets set standards and protocols to enhance assurance and mitigate risks
  • Develop tactical strategy and delivery plans in support of functional strategic objectives in partnership with leadership
  • Develop, execute and monitor Lesotho internal audit strategy aligned with the overall business models and strategies, collaborating towards an organisation wide strategy formulation and enabling integration change and adoption
  • Ensure optimised customer experience and service throughout the value chain
  • Design and deliver customer service solutions, systems and interactions aligned to Organisational values and service standards that build the brand
  • Manage expenditure planning and variances within approved budget parameters
