Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, the Watch Intelligence Analyst I role provides global incident monitoring, impact analysis, and escalation of physical threats for one of WorldAware’s most valued clients. The Analyst is part of a team of other analysts that are responsible for 24x7x365 coverage. The Watch Intel Analyst responsibilities include monitoring for open-source information to identify incidents and disasters (storms, wildfires, shootings, civil unrest, etc.) that are likely to impact the client’s operations; writing and disseminating clear assessments with detailed mapping of the incident; and to support WorldAware’s and the client’s operations related the event. This position is a shift-based position that requires weekend coverage. The analyst may be asked to work overnights and holidays as well. Familiarity with disaster response or non-government organizations in the disaster response space is ideal.
The analyst will also be taking on other analytical and intelligence projects outside of this primary role. These projects include, but are not limited to, location assessments, travel reports, situation briefs, and high-risk travel reports.

This is not an information or cyber security role.

Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Work Experience

· 6 months to 3 years of experience in intelligence gathering, research, journalism, analysis, disaster preparedness, crisis management, threat assessment, incident response or a related field required.

Skills

· Excellent writing skills

· Strong critical thinker

· Global awareness and understanding

· Ability to take initiative and multi-task under pressure

· Effective problem-solving and time-management skills

· Working knowledge of Google Earth and Maps

· Foreign travel and experience preferred

· French-speaking preferred

Work conditions

· Office setting and machine use. Sitting, standing, walking, hearing, speaking, reading, writing.

Information Security

· Adhere to applicable information security procedures and policies as updated from time to time on the ISMS. Report any information security incidents or potential information security threats to the Information Security Officer. Take a proactive approach to information security.

· Flexible hours and workdays are required to meet WorldAware core 24/7 mission.
