Integration Engineer

Due to growth internally and some exciting new changes we are looking for a Integration Engineer to join our team. Your primary responsibilities will be to perform expert technical work on integration and development projects. You will also be responsible for designing and developing new integration solutions or making enhancements to existing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Data mapping and development using XML / XSLT
  • Providing creative and constructive feedback to other team members to improve products and processes, and to create new products and processes
  • Consulting with customers to define integration architectures, solutions and requirements (sometimes required to assist the BA)
  • Customer Integration (Development, Configuration and Installation)
  • Customer Support (third line support)
  • Creating custom component for existing external and internal frameworks
  • Troubleshooting and detailed problem analysis
  • Providing professional services to the best of his abilities and acting and behaving in a professional manner in all dealings relating to the Company
  • Work within most aspects of the software development life cycle including requirements definition, functional and technical design, configuration, scripting, integration, data transformation and manipulation, testing and documentation.
  • Understanding data integration-based practices, tools and technologies, security in the environment, data warehousing and dimensional modelling concepts and performance tuning.
  • Workflow design, development, configuration, testing and implementation.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
  • Guiding/supervising implementation and development of the integration layer and ensuring that all services required are developed and end to end integration of applications is achieved.
  • Perform code review as part of troubleshooting with other integration engineers and developers.

Requirements

  • IT Degree, IT Diploma, COBIT, ITIL and TOGAF certification or other relevant qualification
  • Possess significant knowledge of XSLT, XML, XSD, JSON, JMS or similar Messaging Framework
  • Proficiency in communication methods including but not limited to: FTP, SFTP, REST, SOAP and Sonic MQ
  • Data modelling and mapping, using user defined functions and XSLT mappings
  • Working knowledge of version control systems
  • Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Excellent general problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Proven relevant IT industry experience
  • Experience with the development of large-scale systems integration solutions
  • Proven experience implementing integration services

Desirable

  • NET, C#, Java development language experience (advantageous)
  • Experience with relational database systems including SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.
  • Knowledge of software methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall).
