Rural-Self-Help Development Association (RSDA) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) Advisor based in Maseru.

RSDA, is an NGO registered in Lesotho that works to empower rural Basotho communities to develop their self-initiative, self-determination and self-responsibility, engage in sustainable agriculture, natural resource management and other initiatives to graduate out of extreme poverty. This position is required in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) under the project “Community Engagement for ICM in Lesotho” funded by the GIZ.

Job Summary

You will monitor and report on assigned project activities in support of RSDA work serving the poor and vulnerable. You will provide technical analysis and support in the area of Natural resource management in line with RSDA program quality principles and standards, donor guidelines, and industry best practice to technical staff, and Management to advance the delivery of high-quality programming to the poor and vulnerable.

Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

Qualifications and competences

•        Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Natural Resource Management preferred.

•        General knowledge of technical principles and concepts in Natural resource management

•        Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in project support. Experience in the field of Livelihoods, Natural Resource Management, or a related field required.  Experience with an NGO would be a plus.

•        Experience in participatory action planning, community engagement, and designing and delivering trainings.

•        Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data preferred

•        Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

•        Familiarity assisting with the implementation of projects in rural Lesotho (preferred)

•        Time management and the ability to focus on multiple priorities

•        Observation, active listening and analysis skills with ability to make sound judgment

•        Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners and community members

•        Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities

•        Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented

•        Ability to work as part of diverse and multi-cultural team.
