Insurance Analyst (Actuarial): Ref: IT AUD

The Insurance Analyst (Actuarial) is responsible for assisting in the advancement of efficient, seamless insurance and pension’s supervision by assessing financial soundness of insurers, pension funds, pension fund administrators, asset managers, securities exchange and intermediaries.

Areas of responsibility include:

   Contribute to policy reviews.

   Prepare annual plan in line with the overall objectives of the Division and Department and keep management abreast of all developments pertaining to actuarial requirements.

   Prepare progress reports in relation to area of focus and other assigned functions.

The Candidate will be required to:

•             Compile onsite and offsite assessment of reports submitted by insurers, pension funds, pension fund administrators, securities exchange and intermediaries;

•             Compile statistical data from regulated entities and prepare comprehensive reports recommending to the Commissioner possible courses of action to be taken address areas of concern;

•             Assess the compliance of insurance companies, pension funds, pension fund administrators, securities exchange and intermediaries with relevant laws, regulations, guidelines and any other prudential requirements by checking the documents, records as well as systems of the institutions against the relevant requirements;

•             Evaluate the adequacy of the institutions’ internal controls in line with the internal controls regulations and best practice.
