Inspector (5 Positions) In the Customer Relations Division

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned positions. The positions are tenable at LEC Headquarters in Maseru and the incumbents will report to the Meter Audits Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Certificate in Electrical Engineering
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE, PROGRESSION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of three years related experience e.g in the metering and house installation environments
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Computer literacy and report writing skills are essential
• Excellent interpersonal and people skills.
• Methodical and disciplined approach to work.
• High level of integrity.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The incumbents will be responsible for performing the following:
• Conducting meter audits.
• Inspecting meters and installations to facilitate opening and closure of accounts.
• Inspecting and testing house wiring for compliance with applicable electricity standards and guidelines.
• Issuing installation test certificate as per set procedure.
• Making electrical disconnects according to policy and procedures, for unauthorised and unsafe installations.
• Carefully sealing meters to prevent access to meter connections.
• Conducting field investigations and compiling investigation reports
• Producing daily reports on meter inspections.
• Clearing electricity credit on meters to facilitate units transfer.
• Guiding and educate customers on electricity related matters.
