The Innovation @ WWF team contributes to this vision by enabling and inspiring WWF teams and offices to create solutions for greater conservation impact through innovation for people and the planet. The team connects innovators and supports them to develop, implement and scale ideas.


Keep the innovation engine running smoothly in a fast-moving team

This role is ideally suited for someone with at least 5 years of experience. You will support the global innovation team by organizing, coordinating, scheduling and ensuring actions are taken across multiple projects.

Working closely with the Global Innovation Lead and the Scaling and Incubation Leads, you will help keep the strategic innovation portfolio on track.


A hands-on coordination role at the heart of WWF’s Innovation portfolio

Your main responsibility will be to orchestrate various workstreams that form WWF’s strategic innovation work—applying innovation tools to conservation and operational challenges.

You will not need deep technical expertise but will play a critical role in alignment and follow-through.

Projects include:

  • Global Scaling Labs
  • Scaling Speedboats
  • Panda Labs
  • Academic partnership with the Technical University of Munich (TUM) exploring AI for conservation project design

You will also coordinate network relationships to ensure engagement with key stakeholders advancing WWF’s mission.


A Wide Mix of Responsibilities

This role combines multiple streams of coordination and team support. You will act as the operational backbone of the team, creating clarity, structure and momentum.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support coordination and scheduling of strategic innovation work across global programs
  • Ensure alignment, maintain pace and steward the team toward action
  • Organise virtual agile sprints and collaborative workshops (scheduling across time zones, technical support, minute-taking, tracking actions)
  • Support the TUM partnership on AI for conservation project design
  • Maintain WWF’s innovation network and stakeholder database (Airtable)
  • Coordinate engagement with partners and stakeholders
  • Organise knowledge, structure workflows, manage invoices, reporting and team administration

Are We a Match?

Experience:

  • At least 5 years in project coordination
  • Educational background in management, entrepreneurship or business

Organizational Skills:

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent attention to detail

Team Collaboration:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders

Scrum Master Experience:

  • Experience in or willingness to take on Scrum Master duties
  • Managing agile sprints and facilitating collaboration

Communication:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Tech-Savvy:

  • Proficiency in tools such as Asana, Trello, Slack, Airtable, Microsoft Office

Adaptability:

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Strong prioritization and flexibility

Language:

  • Fluent in English
  • Additional languages are an asset

Job Specification

Title: WWF Innovation Project Coordinator & Team Support
Legal Form: Independent Contractor via WWF Switzerland (consultant/company set-up required)
Engagement: 32–36 hours per week
Contract Length: Until December 2026 (possible extension)
Location: Remote (ideally CET time zones; applications from Asia, Latin America & Africa encouraged)
Remuneration: 1900–2400 Euros per month (subject to cost-of-living adjustments based on residence, seniority and experience)
Preferred Starting Date: As soon as possible
Other: Personal development & leave time (details shared during interview process)
