Vacancy: Information Technology Officer – Database Administrator
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested individuals to apply for the position of Information Technology Officer – Database Administrator in the Information Technology Department of the National Drug Service Organization (NDSO).

| Required Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field |
Required Minimum Experience
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in database administration, system support, or a similar ICT role
- Proven experience in managing enterprise databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
- Experience supporting integrated systems such as ERP, WMS, or Financial Systems (an added advantage)
- Professional certification in any of the following is advantageous:
- Database Administration
- Oracle
- Microsoft SQL
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Understanding of networking concepts, data security, and system integration
Summary of Job Description
The IT Officer – Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and optimization of all organization databases to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and data integrity.
The Officer ensures that all business systems operate efficiently and that data is protected against loss, unauthorized access, or corruption.
