Position Title: Information, Communication and Media (ICM) Manager (Tier D)
Location: Flexible / Remote (candidates in the Global South are strongly encouraged to apply)
Term: full time – 35 hours a week 
Salary: The gross annual salary for this tier is $74,909.00 USD


Benefits in addition to the gross salary: Group medical and life insurances. Paid time off (20 vacation days, 15 sick days, 5 personal days and up to 12 public holidays). Contribution of 5% of gross monthly salary to retirement savings. Remote work and flexible work arrangements.

Overview of the organization:

The Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID) is a global, feminist, membership, movement-support organization. We currently have 30+ staff members based in 20+ different countries. Our mission is to support feminist, women’s rights and gender justice movements to thrive, to be a driving force in challenging systems of oppression, and to co-create feminist realities. 

The position and profile:

AWID is looking to hire an Information, Communication and Media (ICM) Manager who will  oversee the all ICM activities, provide leadership to and manage the work of the ICM team, and work with teams across the organization to develop, implement, and assess strategic plans that advance programmatic and organizational goals. 

This is a full-time role that sits within AWID’s Information, Communication and Media Team, works  closely with ICM Coordinators, and is under the direct supervision of the Director of Programs.

The key responsibilities for this role are to develop and implement effective communication strategies that build relationships with key audiences, and promote AWID’s political image and brand, work closely with AWID initiatives and Membership Constituency and Engagement (MCE) teams to ensure AWID events are adequately documented and relevant content disseminated via appropriate channels. Other responsibilities include managing an editorial calendar, internal and external communications, AWID campaigns and ensuring consistent branding across all communication channels.

As the right candidate, you will be understanding of AWID’s feminist values and ways of working, and be sensitive to upholding them in the way you take up the responsibilities of the role. You will also be familiar with regional and global realities of feminist movements, and the political and logistical aspects of creating safer, welcoming and accessible spaces to a diversity of constituencies. You will be willing to continuously expand your knowledge about diverse accessibility needs and solutions.

Successful applicants should be able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with diverse stakeholders and have excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills to build strong alliances with diverse constituencies. 

We are looking for someone who has knowledge of and experience with a wide range of communications strategies, methods and tactics (preferably with a rights-based or feminist organization), and possesses strong strategic & critical thinking and problem-solving skills.  You also need to be an outstanding communicator who can build relationships with diverse groups and encourages collaborative work. Finally, you would be someone who can thrive in a virtual environment working in high-pressure situations and with tight deadlines, and have high levels of initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness.
