JOB TITLE: Information Analyst
Grade: H

Responsible To: Deputy Inspector of Police
Number of Positions: One (1)
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Deputy Inspector of Police, the incumbent is responsible for the following:
- Provides analytical and organizational support to the Inspector of Police and his staff.
- Management and coordination of analysis of quarterly data collection for the Inspector of Police.
- Researches topics and prepares timely and accurate written reports to the Office of the Inspector of Police and Police Directorate detailing the outcome of the auditing and analytical findings.
- Collects, analyses and reports on documents and management information collected prior to inspection visits, as required, in order to highlight key areas for inspection and reality checking.
- Conducts forensic and crime audits of the LMPS.
- Provides ongoing analysis of the LMPS response to national crime reduction and investigation targets.
- Assists in risk analysis of the annual inspection methodology.
- Confers with LMPS liaison officers in order to collect relevant documents and management information.
- Ensures that adequate systems, both manual and electronic, are in place to effectively archive and organize information obtained.
Knowledge and Skill
Education
- A Master’s Degree in Public Administration or Sociology with two (2) years’ experience in research or inspection and two (2) years in the middle managerial position.
OR - A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or Sociology with four (4) years’ experience in research or inspection and three (3) years in the middle managerial position.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have analytical and audit experience
- Knowledge of the Police Service or other governmental body
- Knowledge of computer applications
- Ability to interpret statistical data
