Key responsibilities:
- Prepare salads, desserts, cold canapés and starters
- Prepare and cooked vegetable dishes, starches casseroles, sauces, roasts, grills and cocktails
- Order, receive, issue stock and input stock data
- Ensure that all food requirements for events are met according to set standards
- Assist with the coordination of events as well as equipment
- Setup and breakdown of furniture in all venues
- Setup, stocking and clearing of service stations and service equipment in all venues
- Polish and prepare equipment for services
- Welcome and direct customers to the venues
- Provide service for food and beverages (waitering and bar service including cash bars)
- Refresh conference venues during breaks
- Perform function reconciliation and beverage stocktaking
Qualifications, skill and experience:
- Currently enrolled for a three year qualification in hospitality or events management (must have completed two years’ theoretical component of the qualification);
- An outstanding academic record for the two years of study;
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Customer-focus orientation
- Excellence/ quality orientation
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexible hours in a dynamic environment would be an advantage;
- Language proficiency (English spoken and written);
- Ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure;
- Good time management skills.
