IMF Asia-Pacific Regional Seminar: The IMF’s latest World Economic Outlook and Japan Outlook

We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming IMF Asia-Pacific Regional Seminar on the IMF’s latest World Economic and Japan Outlook to be held on April 20 (Thursday), 2023.

The presentation will cover two chapters from the most recent World Economic Outlook report and the recently-concluded Article IV Consultation with Japan.

In the first part of the seminar, John C. Bluedorn, Deputy Chief in the IMF Research Department, will present global economic developments and the outlook. Jean-Marc Natal, Deputy Chief in the IMF Research Department, will discuss the development and the long-term outlook of real interest rates in advanced and emerging economies and their policy implications. A Q&A session will follow the 30-minute presentation.

In the second part, Ranil Salgado, IMF Mission Chief for Japan and Assistant Director in the IMF Asia Pacific Department, will present the highlights from the Article IV Consultation with Japan, including a discussion of the growth outlook, risks and policy challenges. A Q&A session will follow the 30-minute presentation.
