We have an outstanding opportunity for an ICT Systems Specialist – Data & Business Systems, with expertise in data and business system support in our Strategy, Portfolio, Partnerships and Digital Division.

Reporting to the Adviser, Data & Business Systems, the post-holder is responsible for database administration, configuration, data analytics and business system support. The post holder shall also participate in software design and development tasks.

The post-holder will be responsible for providing 2nd line support for for ERP and other business applications. They will also liaises with external or internal clients, assesses and analyses their existing methods and systems and needs and translates user requirements develop systems specifications for new systems and tools to support the business.

Other responsibilities entailed in this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing database administration (DBA) functions to mission critical database applications. Plan and implements data migration and where necessary systems integration.
  • Carry out diagnostic checks on application systems and database management systems (DBMS), optimising database performance and remedies any faults found. Ensure adherence to good data management practice in database design and maintain a data inventory and data dictionaries.
  • The post-holder will contributes to the development of data standards and the implementation of a data governance framework in line with the IT and corporate strategy.
  • Conducts tests on any new business applications, promotes utilisation of business applications and develops and implement training sessions for users on applications.
  • Liaises with other team members to offer specialist advice, keep up to date with developments in the industry and latest technology and recommends and implements new products as appropriate and provides occasional out of hours’ support.

Functional Requirements:

  • Experience in requirements gathering, analysis and design of new systems for users.
  • Ability to technically document new systems
  • Provide hands on training to users and production of training materials

Technical:

  • Excellent and demonstrable software development skills with experience with .NET, python and R
  • Content Management system (CMS) Configuration Skills
  • Exposure to advanced ITIL change processes
  • Exposure to the use of data and statistics tools including SPSS, Socrata (Desirable)
  • User Experience (UX) design skills.
  • In depth Knowledge of Common ERP Systems

To be considered you must have a degree in IT, Systems analysis and design or related areas and a certification in Systems Development/ Programming. Candidates must also have a minimum of five years’ experience in Database Design and Administration and a minimum of three years’ experience in the setup, configuration, and support of common ERP Solutions. An in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft 365, key Microsoft Infrastructure systems including Active Directory, and Azure is also required.
