Position: ICT Assistant

Department: Corporate Services

Duration: 8 months

SUMMARY:

Under the DOD project, the incumbent will: be responsible for the day-to-day operation of help-desk support, network administration, and systems maintenance. The primary focus will be to respond to requests, submitted via our online support ticket system, emails, phone calls, and in-person visits to all PSI Lesotho offices. The secondary focus will be to help develop and improve PSI’s ICT capacity.

This position is based in Maseru and it reports to the MIS Manager

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilties include, but are not limited to:

– Provide end-user support, with ICT related problems, in a responsive and service-oriented manner.

– Support and maintain computer systems, networks, hardware, printers and scanners.

– Respond to ICT Support requests in a timely fashion within SLA standards to ensure minimum disruption.

– Continuously coach to develop the staff in the use of ICT related equipment and systems.

– Troubleshoot system and network problems; diagnose and solve hardware or software faults

– Perform preventive maintenance duties on items of ICT hardware, including the cleaning of equipment.

– Install and configure desktop computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners.

– Follow guidelines and written instructions to repair fault or replace parts.

– Support the roll-out and implementation of new systems and applications

– Set-up new users’ account/profiles and deal with related issuess including passwords

– Work continuously on a task until completion or escalate to the

– MIS Manager if cannot be resolved.

– Assist with the administration of the telephone system.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

– Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Systems Engineering with at least 1-2 years’ experience

– Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Systems

– Engineering with at least 2- 3 years’ experience.

– Experience in supporting Human resources and Finance systems-knowledge of SAGE platform.

– Microsoft and any CISCO certification or training will be an added advantage.
