Applications are invited from suitably qualified local candidates for the following vacant positions tenable in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition.
Position Title: ICT Application Systems Manager
Ministry: Agriculture, Food Security & Nutrition
Department: Administration
Grade: I
Number of Positions: One (1)
Responsible To: Principal Secretary
Location: Maseru
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide technical guidance and expertise in all matters related to data and information services within the institution.
Key Functions
- Review existing systems and prepare specifications to meet business requirements
- Facilitate implementation of custom applications and e-services
- Supervise database design, implementation, and administration
- Test and modify systems to ensure reliable operation
- Formulate and review information management policies and standards
- Provide technical advice and support in information management services
- Facilitate development of strategic interventions for information management
- Establish mechanisms to promote collaboration between stakeholders
- Supervise and appraise staff
Qualifications
Option 1:
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science from a recognized institution
- Certification in Database Administration, Programming Language, Microsoft Admin, or Linux
- Minimum of 4 years’ work experience, with at least 2 years at ICT Applications Systems Administrator level in Lesotho Government or equivalent in a reputable organization
Option 2:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science from a recognized institution
- Certification in Microsoft Admin or Linux
- Minimum of 6 years’ work experience, with at least 2 years at ICT Applications Systems Administrator level in Lesotho Government or equivalent in a reputable organization
