Catholic Relief Services, the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States is currently recruiting for ICM MEAL Assistant in Maseru, Lesotho. 

Job Summary:  

The MEAL Assistant – ICM will support the design and implementation of MEAL systems and procedures that are appropriate, effective and cost-efficient. You will also facilitate the collection and entry of the quality data for use at the different stages of MEAL in the project.

Roles and Key Responsibilities: 

  • Participates in the design/refining of appropriate monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools based on project/program plans
  • Assists in communicating key project information and results with community members, partner staff

Basic Qualifications 

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. The degree should be in Demography, Epidemiology, Sociology, Biostatistics, Statistics or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in supporting/implementing MEAL activities in Lesotho
  • Sound understanding of relevant indicators, data collection methodology, data quality issues; ability to develop indicators and data collection tools and assess data quality

Required Languages – Proficiency in Sesotho and English

Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% including to remote/mountainous areas 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

  • Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement
  • Excellent relationship management skills with ability to influence and get buy-in from people not under direct supervision and to work with local partners and community members in diverse geographical settings.
